Frances started her career in pensions in local government with NILGOSC, the local authority pensions provider in Northern Ireland. In 1990 she moved to London to take up an appointment with Unison, where she spent five years as a Pensions Officer representing the union’s membership on all aspects of pension provision.
After three years working in new business development and establishing training courses at Paymaster, she moved to Aon’s Research Department where one of her key responsibilities was running Aon’s Trustee Training Programme.
Over the years Frances has frequently run revision courses for the Pensions Management Institute (PMI). In 2002 she became a Fellow of the PMI and as a QPA External Verifier is keen to develop new approaches to learning within the Pension Industry.
Joining the NAPF in January 2004, as their Training and Development Manager, Frances has been involved in a number of key NAPF initiatives concentrating on learning and development for practitioners and trustees. In April 2006 she was appointed Project Manager for PENSIONSFORCE a new initiative aimed at raising pensions awareness directly in the workplace.
Frances is a TPAS adviser and holds a Certificate in Training Practice.
"Michelle Lewis is Senior Policy Advisor at the National Association of Pension Funds. At the NAPF her role is to advise, develop and implement policy on pensions (state and private). Prior to joining the NAPF Michelle was the Pensions Officer at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) a post she has held since October 2001. At the TUC she was responsible for implementing and developing TUC policy on state and occupational pensions and for providing services to affiliated unions and their members on a range of pensions issues. Prior to that Michelle held various roles in pensions including pensions research”.
John Reeve BSc FIA John is Chairman of Raising Standards of Pensions Administration (www.rspa.org) and a regular speaker on matters relating to Pensions Administration and the provision of pension benefits. His career in pensions began with Prudential where he qualified as an actuary after which he joined Aon Consulting. At Aon he had several posts including Managing Director of Pensions Administration. Since leaving Aon John has held a number of roles covering administration, customer service and the delivery of pension benefits through occupational schemes. John is now working with a number of clients and providers looking to improve the service that members get from service providers and helping Trustees to carry out the onerous duties that they currently have."
